LAPIZ is a self-taught artist who navigates between canvases and walls. His continuously evolving stencil work aims to disrupt unsuspecting viewers from the everyday pseudo-soothing normalcy of life. While his art carries a social critique, he firmly believes that striking realizations, when presented beautifully, contribute positively to society. Anger, sadness, or disbelief serve as the natural catalysts preceding action, organization, and acts of hope—they are the byproducts of critical thought. LAPIZ crafts pieces that not only expose the injustices of our world but also trace the development of his own creative identity. Vibrant colors burst forth from between the neatly cut lines of his stencils, occasionally breaking their confines in a bid to champion truth and stimulate meaningful dialogue.
